Kick The Box
Feb. 24th Edition
It’s the last Kick The Box for the month of February! Yep, already it will be March in a couple of days, and hopefully, this means the exiting out of crappy winter months and into some nice sun filled days. But, until than, it’s a good excuse for us pasty white people to stay indoors and get our game on. This week, we have a whole forest full of Meeples, a new stealth RPG if your tired of hacking and slashing your way through dungeons, a new miniatures game on Kickstarter, and an exciting Viking themed resource gathering, card drafting game.

I don’t know how I missed this Kickstarter during my ramblings through the games section of Kickstarter, but was glad that Nate Parker (via Board Game Community on Google+) was nice enough to point me in the direction of it.
Project: Dark is a new RPG that is set in a world of stealth and living in the shadows. Or, I should say worlds. This Kickstarter project is to help get the rules finalized and printed and the first of, what sounds like, many different types of worlds out to the masses.
Not only is the gameplay about stealth and thievery, but instead of the usual hack and slash dungeon crawl RPG setting makes for an intriguing and delightful experience, but so does the fact that this new game system doesn’t use dice. It instead uses regular playing cards.
If your looking for something different in the element of RPG worlds and game mechanics, then quickly click on the picture and head to their Kickstarter page, cause there is only six days left in their campaign.

Pulp City is a 32mm skirmish game where a player takes control of a team of Supreme Beings, and pits them versus a rivals team of Supreme Beings. The scale of the battle can be as small as two Beings on each team, to a dozen or more Supreme Beings on each team. Bite, kick, pummel, and throw cars to defeat your opponents and become the victor of the day.

The Viking heritage has a long and bloody history. Shipwrights of the North Sea pits you at the beginning of the heyday of Vikings circa 1000 AD. Gather the resources and craftsman needed to build buildings and ships to score you victory points.
This 2-5 player game has a card drafting mechanic reminiscent of 7 Wonders. Mix that with a worker placement game and a Viking theme, and you have Shipwrights of the North Sea. The game ends the round after one or more people have built their fourth ship. Tally up the victory points, and the most VP’s is the Commander of the North Sea!
Shipping is included within New Zealand. For shipping outside of New Zealand add $18-$28 to your pledge level, depending on your pledge level.
