Welcome to episode 1! In this episode, we’re going to cover things you can do with your kids when you’re all stuck inside. Be it illness, weather, wild animals or what have you, sometimes you’ll find yourself housebound with the kid(s). What then? Here are some of our suggestions!

Make your own boogers:
Boiling water (be careful with this)
- Fill half a cup with boiling water.
- Add three teaspoons of gelatin to the boiling water.
- Let it soften before stirring with a fork.
- Add a quarter of a cup of corn syrup.
- Stir the mixture again with your fork and look at the long strands of gunk that have formed.
- As the mixture cools slowly add more water, small amounts at a time.
Tristan’s Bagel Recipe
4 cups bread flour (you can substitute some of this for whole wheat flour or oat flour)
1 Tbls sugar
1 1/2 tsps salt
1 Tbls vegetable oil or melted butter
2 tsps instant yeast
1-1/4- 1-1/2 cups of warm water
Mix all the ingredients together in a stand mixer or a large bowl. Knead for about 10 minutes. Divide the dough into 8 pieces, form into balls and let rest someplace warm, covered for 20-30 minutes. Put holes in them by either being fancy and rolling them out as snakes and then joining the ends together or you can be lame like me and just poke a hole with your finger and stretch them. Cover them up and get a pot of water boiling and preheat the oven to 425 degrees. After about 20 minutes, the water should be boiling. Add a T of baking soda to the water and boil the bagels, about a minute per side. Put them on parchment lined baking sheets and bake for 20 minutes, flipping them over after 10 minutes. You can adapt this recipe in all kinds of ways. I’ve made blueberry bagels, kale pesto bagels, sundried tomato garlic, pumpkin…and don’t forget, the pizza bagel!
