Help Wanted: Seeking Editors and Authors who love to write about table top games

Do you love table top games, RPGs, board games, and all of those that fall somewhere in between? Love writing about them? Would you like an established platform to do so with? Read on friend, and see what’s in store for you. I’m looking for several writers (two or three)  who would, after a three month trail period, take up Editorial duties on Troll in the Corner.  Here’s what I’d need from you:

  • At least one article a week, on a scheduled day (M-F). It can be a review, an overview, an opinion piece, a bit of content for in game use (any system), a bunch of cool links to other sites you’ve found this week.
  • Proven ability, either with an existing body of work or some kick-ass samples sent to me which show you can write clear and interesting content in your own unique style. I don’t want to smother your voice but do appreciate good writing.
  • After three months (or so), you will begin to assume editorial duties like editing posts not written by you, approving posts by occasional Authors, contacting industry professionals to request review materials for yourself and other duties, possibly related to forums and social media.
  • An understanding of or willingness to learn about WordPress and blogging, including a talent for creating headlines that pop, using tags and fiddling about with images.

What you get out of the deal:

  • An established platform from which you can share your thoughts on gaming, including any gaming related materials you may produce for mass consumption.
  • First pick at press passes for related conventions you’d be interested in attending and reporting on.
  • Access too a growing list of publisher contacts for review requests.
  • No restrictions on the amount of content you can publish on the site.

Sadly, I cannot pay for these or the author positions.  TitC does make a little bit of actual money each month, which is generally just barely enough to cover operating costs. I’m also looking for a vast horde of Authors to write about the table top gaming world.  Here’s what I’m looking for:

  • A damned good chance to attend many a convention with press passes so you can talk about it on the site.
  • Access too a growing list of publisher contacts for review requests.

Interested? Drop me a line using the contact page (or if you know me on the various social sites, just hit me up there) and show me what you can do! If I’m not familiar with you already, I’ll need to see two samples of your writing. If you already have an online presence, links work fine. If not, send me a word doc, pdf, rtf or good old plain text copy of what you can do.  Each sample should be 200 words minimum and have something to do with table top gaming. It may take me a few days to get back to you.

  1. You need to edit this post.
“Here’s what you get out of the deal:” and the following small list are repeated.

Also, sounds like an interesting gig. I’ll likely send along an email with a few questions.
