Throughout the convention I will be taking photographs, recording audio, and updating this liveblog with my experiences.

Checked in 51 minutes ago.  After I checked in, despite being told earlier the hotel wouldn’t allow it before 3pm, I ran into Ben Gerber and his wonderful wife in the lobby.

My room is AMAZING!  King size bed, couch, lots of space.  Check out the below picture of the room and the view from my balcony.  Did I forget to mention that?  Yeah, I have an inside balcony looking over the pool.  If only I brought my swim trunks with me.  Oh well, this is a GAMING convention, not a swimming one.

Time to head down to the con, check in there, get my nifty badges, and take photos of the games.

  1. @Trollitc I’m not sure what you’re posting from but it’s including html character codes in your posts

  2. @Trollitc Why do you’re posts keep trailing off?

  3. Hey folks, sorry about that. Are you grabbing out articles through RSS feeds? There’s a liveblog attached to this article that can do strange things.

On the web, the page simply updates after every liveblog event is posted.

  4. Terribly sorry for the issues that you are experiencing. As Ben said we use a liveblog plugin to enable us to auto-update a post with new content.

This comes in very handy at an event like TotalCon. But, it does some wacky things. The plugin we use is heavily liked by the WordPress community. Even so it is not perfect.

@lrmrith if you want to send us a screenshot of what you’re seeing, we will do our best to pass that on to the plugin developers in the hopes of getting this fixed.

You can send it to me directly, cwfgamecast@wargamingforums.com, with a subject of Troll LiveBlog Error

@Eric Ben mentioned that this is a liveblog posting, which auto updates. It is great for passing on snippets of information but the plugin we use doesn’t make it crystal clear to you the viewer.

Also, I personally hate that each update can get our standard post footer at the bottom. That just makes it confusing.

I’m sorry for the trouble this has caused but hope the coverage was interesting for you to read.

We will be providing additional coverage in our podcasts. I’m sure that Ben will discuss the con on Indie Talks and Growing Geeks. I recorded audio live from the con for my show Wargaming Recon. I’ll also discuss it on my other show Geeks Explicitly.
