Hold on to your hats, because there are going to be a number of cool things happening here at Troll in the Corner! Here’s what I can tell you so far:

Troll in the Corner Network

We’ve been hard at work launching our very own podcasting network, taking our own little corner of iTunes to create some interesting shows!

First to hit the network is Geeks Explicitly – a no holds barred podcast co-hosted by Drew McCarthy & Jonathan J. Reinhart. No geeky subject is off limits and no language is off color enough to stop these guys. Clocking in at a 20 minutes an episode, and airing weekly, Episode one is already out in the ether! They’ve got some cool shows lined up and are available through RSS, right here on the site and on iTunes.

The next podcast to join the network will be launching on Wednesday, June 6 – Indie Talks! On this show I’ll be your host and we’ll be talking with a vast and mighty group of independent game designers, artists, creative types and possibly a few surprises as well. Indie Talks will run 30-45 minutes an episode, and will air sort of bi-monthly. My original goal was to have one episode every other week, however I’ve gotten such a fantastic response from indie creators that I’ll be doing more like 2-4 episodes a week. I’ve got some great shows lined up – here’s a sneak peek!

June 6 – just me talking about the show, only 9 minutes but long enough to get us on iTunes and ready for the world.

June 13 – Tracy Barnett is my guest and we talk about his successful Kickstarter run for School Daze and developing in an open environment, with an open license.

June 20 – Chris Tragenza of 6d6 Fireball fame joins me as we discuss developing games and taking indie design to the next level with a 100% time commitment.

June 27 – Marco from Enter The Shadowside will be joining me as we talk about game design via reddit, bootstrapping projects and more.

Future guests will include some very, very interesting people. I’ve already scheduled shows out through December of this year, much to my surprise! I’m going to try to get a few surprise guests signed up as well.

If you’ve got an idea for a great table top gaming podcast and would like to see it on the Troll in the Corner network, get in touch!

Site Design

You’re going to see Troll in the Corner going through a fairly significant site design change. This will make it easier to find the posts, podcasts and pages you want without having to troll (ahem) through the entire site. We’re hard at work on this right now!

We’re always on the lookout for new and talented authors. Once again we’ll be opening the search to anyone interested in writing for us. Our goal is to have a vibrant site with new, original material appearing daily. If you’ve got an interesting take on the hobby and are looking to get your thoughts out to the world, please send us a note with your ideas for a weekly column.

Expect more reviews to be coming your way. We’ve already secured several partnerships which will ensure a fresh batch of new games heading to us for review. If you’ve got an RPG, board game, card game or related item you would like us to review, contact us!

Keep your eyes on the site for these and possibly other changes, coming soon!

About Ben

I'm a geek. A nerd, a dweeb, whatever. Yes I owned garb, yes I still own medieval weaponry. And yeah, I could kick your butt in Mechwarrior the CCG. I love video games, role playing games, tactical board games and all forms of speculative fiction. I will never berate someone for wanting to be a Jedi and take everything Gary Gygax ever wrote as gospel. Well, all of this but that last bit.

  1. That’s great news! Its awesome to see the site thrive, but I’ll be glad for a new design. There’s been so much content that I think you’ll benefit greatly from something aside from the typical scrolling blog.

  2. Absolutely Brian. It’s been on our minds for a while now and we’ve finally got the chance to tackle it.
