This past week of days has been one hell of a week for me. Two significant life events happened and one not-very-significant-on-the-face-of-things-movie happened. Lets start small and get bigger.
Last night I finally had a chance to see Zombieland. I enjoyed the hell out of it. I laughed more at that movie with my brother and the other 20 people in the theater than I’ve laughed at much in the past few weeks. It wasn’t high theatre, it wasn’t a gore fest that held up a mirror to reality.
It was a wicked fun road movie that happened to take place in a zombie infested world. Right on! The principle cast did a bang up job and the cameo from the BM himself was great. So thanks to everyone involved in the film. You certainly didn’t make it for me personally but it came out at just the right time.
On death without zombies, last weekend my amazingly awesome, talented and smart Grandma passed away. She had a great life and did everything from own (and hustle at I’m sure) several pool halls to teach herself fluent Japanese (reading, writing and speaking). She also spent 60 some odd years becoming a master at the sumi style painting. Kick ass Grandma – we will all miss you terribly.
Was it strange to see a zombie flick so soon after the death of a beloved family member? I don’t think so. Zombie movies are some of my favorite things and losing myself into the world of Zombieland for an hour and twenty minutes was I think one of the best distractions this week had to offer.
The last reason I have not been around much as an Internet presence is the purchasing of a new home. I’ve seen the inside of many a box and done much paperwork over the last few days.

Sorry to read about your Grandma. She sounds like someone worth meeting. Congratulations on the house.
