Oddworld Inhabitants(Makers of the Oddworld series) Have announced they are bringing the remaining Oddworld games to the PC. In doing so, they are breaking a long period of console exclusivity for the Oddworld series.
“We are in the process of converting Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee and Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath to the PC, so that all four of the major Oddworld games will be re-releasing this winter in a package called ‘The Oddbox,“ “This will be the Abe games, Munch, and Stranger as one package for Steam’s digital distribution network, as well as a few other digital distribution outlets.” – Oddworld’s Lorne Lanning
The older Oddworld games, Abe’s Oddysee and Abe’s Exoddus, are already available on the PC and have been re-released on Steam to a loyal fanbase that are very excited to hear about the rest making their way to the PC. For those not in the know, Stranger’s Wrath is a western-themed first person shooter based on the eponymous bounty hunter, while Munch’s Oddysee is an action puzzler that bears the distinction of being one of the original Xbox 360 backwards-compatible games.
As for any plans regarding new Oddworld games, we’ll just have to wait and see.
