Going to SpoCon? Own Luster’s (Jen Page) Gloves from Dorkness Rising – For Charity!

If you're going to be at SpoCon this weekend, be sure to stop by the Charity auction on Sunday to own a piece of geek/dork/movie/luster history! Our favorite actress Jen Page has donated the red gloves worn by her character Luster in the movie Gamers: Dorkness Rising.

Alien vs Predator reveal video of the Marines – Welcome to the Corps

This time a reveal video which features actual game play (towards the end) of the forthcoming (working) title Aliens VS Predator. While the title isn't all that original, the game looks okay so far. Fairly standard 1st person shooter type stuff.

Attention Science Fiction Fans: The Last of the Free is a movie yearning to be made.

Michael Ozias has a science fiction movie he'd like to make. Unlike other folks (like me, for instance) he's also got a script, a plan and a damned good trailer to back him up. Last of the Free is the story of two adolescents, Izan and Hana, on a quest to escape the misery of the dystopian future they live in. In an oppressive time, where freedom, innovation, and individuality are non-existent, they live for the society but long for themselves. Read on for an interview, production stills and to watch the trailer.

BSG 4.5, complete series and The Plan all can all be yours

Notice I didn't use the word 'frakking' at all in the headline? Quite proud of myself there. Anyhoo, they're all on sale between 30% - 40% off right now on Amazon. The Plan is of course a pre-order. Season 4.5 is currently available in complete fractiony goodness and you can own the whole shebang (minus The Plan) as well. Blu-Ray, DVD

Call of Duty Price a Rip-off?

I found this little nugget of info on the BBC website. Apparently the new COD will be priced at £55 in the UK instead of the usual £45. On one hand I can understand – games are expensive to develop and this one is eagerly anticipated so why shouldn’t the creators try and get a decent [...]

PSN getting pre-paid cards? FINALLY!

Just read this report over on Joystiq. I must admit it’s about time. I sometimes get money for birthdays etc and it’s a pain having to put it in the bank and then use my card to buy more credit on PSN. Same for my kids, I (sometimes) let them play and they’d love to [...]

Still not as bad as the Star Wars Holiday Special

I apologize in advance to all the Star Wars fans out there. I felt the world become smaller somehow when I saw this. That said, not only does misery love company, but I think it good for the uber-fans to be able to admit that their chosen object of devotion is not in fact perfect. In any case it is pretty funny.

10 things I’ve learned about interspecies relationships from SciFi movie aliens.

Space aliens. Lots of science fiction movies feature them and they always have something to tell us about how to handle inter-species relationships. From first contact to Merrill swinging, the movies have taught me a lot about dealing with aliens and how to survive in my surroundings should I encounter them.

Command and Conquer 4 “reveal” trailer. Note: no fleshy bits.

Hot off the youtubes (and uploaded by me you purists) is the CC4 reveal trailer. What does it reveal? Certainly not as much as those Witcher screen shots, but perhaps enough to catch your interest.

Meet the Goblins – a Blood Bowl home video

I like this game. It's fun, full of strategy with just the right touch of absurd randomness added in to make it well, Blood Bowl. Just like the board game except less 3D and more on my computer. Today a "Meet the Goblins" video debuted. Here it is for your viewing pleasure.
