U-Wars is an ultra realistic subaqueous scenario. Or a shoot ‘em up game underwater.

In “U-Wars” the player will take control of an elite force and is constrained to accomplish covert operations both on land and undersea. As the PC version is supporting the NVIDIA PhysX technology the XBOX users will enjoy a variety of multiplayer modes via XBOX Live. During this year E3 the game was presented behind close doors and got great feedback from international publishers and journalists.

A Good Week for Anime, a Bad Week for Anime, part 2

Economic stress, job stress, life stress, STRESS – the value of escape into Science Fiction and Fantasy

Whenever I think my life is hectic and a bit unreal I remind myself that Ender had it a lot worse. Most of the folks in the Culture Universe that I know, although vastly more advanced than I am, are in general a lot worse off. Having a group of highly advanced aliens plotting your downfall can be a real bummer, as can angry orcs charging with drawn swords.

A Good Week for Anime, a Bad Week for Anime, part 1

As I mentioned in my last post, I spent a lot of time this week watching random anime shows. The library I work at actually has a rather large selection, the only trick being finding the first disc of the series, since those are most often put on hold. (There are advantages of being the guy who puts everything back on the shelfJ) Unfortunately the majority of the shows I watched were not worth watching, one was so bad I barely made it through a single episode before throwing it down in disgust.

Point Lookout for Fallout 3: Fun and Nearly Bug Free

For those of you who might not have noticed (I almost didn’t) Bethesda released last week their fourth downloadable content pack for the popular Fallout 3 RPG. I’ve now had a chance to play through the whole thing, and thought I’d give my impressions on it for those of you unsure if it is worth the price of ten dollars, especially after the major bugs some of the others had at release.

A.J. Menden, an Author to Watch

I had an… interesting time this past week, trying out a fair number of new books and anime series. One of the books I came across while at work at the library was A.J. Menden’s Tekgrrl, which at first glance seemed to be an interesting take on the superhero genre, having a tech wizard hero who got her smarts from alien experimentation.

I Love Sarah Jane is a film about burgeoning love, coming of age and the zombie apocalypse

I remember my first crush as a very young man and I'm certainly glad I didn't have to contend with a horde of undead at the time as well. As a warning, the film is a bit gory and is peppered with prebubescents swearing - so use headphones if you're at work. It's also got a bit of humor to it and on the whole is pretty damned awesome. Take away from it what you will. Click through to see the movie.

Empire: Total War soundtrack hits (digital) shelves June 30th

If you're a fan of Empire: Total War and I mean a real fan, one who leaves the game on in the background while washing dishes so you can listen to that exciting musical score - well your day just got a whole lot better.
